Fell Pony ‘Hesket’ Joins Scropton Riding for the Disabled Centre
BlueSpark provided the funds to purchase a fell pony called Hesket for Scropton Riding for the Disabled Centre. The centre had a waiting list for children and the purchase of Hesket enabled riding lessons to be provided to around 30 children every week. The centre tracks the progress of its riders. 74% demonstrate physical improvement, 77% experience greater confidence, 65% show a greater willingness and ability to communicate and 72% show improved relationship building skills. Hesket should give the centre 10 years of service and during that time he will deliver around 10,000 lessons, health permitting. The Centre Treasurer said that “Hesket is a wonderful addition to the team and a firm favourite already. Horse riding can change lives forever and we hope that Hesket will be part of that journey. ”
