Multi-Story Orchestra – Music Project for Peckham Schools
BlueSpark provided support for The Multi-Story Orchestra’s ‘Peckham Schools Project’. The MSO is a collective of young, professional musicians who perform across the UK. This project involved the MSO working with students from two classes in each of six schools, to help them create their own musical piece. The students worked with the MSO’s singer-songwriter Abimaro Gunnell and composer Kate Whitley. Students also received training from the MSO’s Conductor and musicians. They learnt new repertoire, developed musical skills and performed alongside professional musicians. The schools then came together for a joint performance at Bold Tendencies, Peckham which is an innovative arts venue located on the top floors of Peckham’s multi-storey car park.
