Thamesmead School’s big musical production – “Annie”
77 students from Thamesmead School were involved in putting on 3 performances of the musical “Annie”. All the students that were part of the production gained so much from the experience. Some were on stage, some helping behind the scenes and some in the orchestra providing the fantastic accompanying music. They performed over 3 nights to around 550 audience members in total. Each night was uplifting and marvellous, with the audience leaving grinning from ear to ear
Shelagh McCarthy from Thamesmead School added “Producing and being part of the school production has a lasting impact on all those taking part. They learn new skills and discipline that they can use in other areas of their lives. It also has an impact on other students who watch it, seeing how they can aspire to be part of it next time.”
BlueSpark Foundation funded the hire and build of the set for the performances.
