Types of activity that our grants help fund

We support a wide range of activities to help young people

Drama

BlueSpark provides grants for stage productions and drama workshops. Helping young people to engage in drama fosters their self-confidence, creativity, teamwork, communication skills and self-expression. Taking part in a drama production is often an experience that young people will remember for life as well as encouraging their interest in the theatre and the arts generally.

Music, dance and singing

BlueSpark provides funding for instruments, tuition and performance opportunities. These projects help to nurture musical, singing and dancing talent and give young people the chance to develop their skills while working together with other young people. This increases their enthusiasm as well as enriching their lives through engagement in music, dance and singing.

Outdoor activities & teambuilding

BlueSpark funds outdoor programmes such as camping, climbing, kayaking, orienteering and sailing which offer young people the opportunity to challenge themselves both physically and mentally. These activities promote resilience, teamwork, and a connection with nature as well as contributing to the overall well-being of the participants.

Sport

BlueSpark supports sporting endeavours by funding equipment, training opportunities and participation in competitions. This assistance enables young people to develop their physical skills, discipline and teamwork and promotes healthy lifestyles, enthusiasm for sport and personal growth through participation in sport.

Educational excursions

BlueSpark funds educational trips for young people to events and cultural sites such as museums, historical locations, nature reserves and farms. These “hands on” learning experiences outside the classroom broaden their horizons, foster their curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world around them. They also enhance their interest in learning and give young people the opportunity to develop their social skills.

Academic

BlueSpark supports academic initiatives and competitions both inside and outside the classroom such as STEM clubs and debating and public speaking competitions. These projects improve problem-solving and team working skills, boost self-confidence and inspire students to use their initiative and creative skills.
